Snow Day! 1-2-11

When new technology comes out on the market, I usually get excited.  I guess I create a lot of hype for the wonderful, new advances of technology.  On the other hand, I do pay attention to the negative characteristics of the product.  I read reviews, and like to be informed before I buy a new product.  I would not call myself a technology determinist because I do not think that technology is the only reason for the change in social interaction.  Using communication with technology is not the way to conserve with friends because people miss the social cues that they would experience if they were face-to-face.  CMC can cause people to be antisocial because they are using the technology to communicate and disconnecting with the outside world.  Do you think that CMC is hindering newer generations communicating skills?
